All Global Pack produce packaging is manufactured from PET — one of the most widely collected and recycled plastics in the Canadian recycling stream. PET is accepted in curbside recycling programs across the majority of Canadian provinces, and is recycled into food-grade packaging, fibre, and other end-use applications through established processing infrastructure.

Global Pack’s ProSeal™ top-seal tray platform uses up to 30% less plastic than equivalent hinged clamshell formats. By replacing rigid lids with thin, recyclable film seals, ProSeal™ technology reduces material consumption per unit while improving product visibility and retail shelf presentation.

Regulatory Alignment

Canadian plastics regulation is advancing. Global Pack monitors and aligns with the federal framework including proposed minimum recycled-content requirements for rigid plastic packaging (targeting 50% recycled content by 2030), recyclability-labelling standards governing chasing-arrows symbol usage, and Federal Plastics Registry reporting obligations. Our commitment is to help customers navigate these requirements with packaging that meets both current and forthcoming standards.

Recycled PET is produced by collecting, sorting, cleaning, and reprocessing post-consumer PET waste — primarily from beverage containers. Food-grade rPET delivers performance equivalent to virgin PET for produce-packaging applications while reducing environmental impact. As Canada’s recycled-content regulations progress, rPET capability will increasingly be a qualification requirement for produce-packaging suppliers.
